Type Locality and Naming
“Wacrenier (1958) and De Lestang (1965, 1968) described the Tekro Formation to designate the youngest unit in the southern Kufrah Basin in northern Chad.” (Tawadros, 2011). [Upper formation of the Al Kufra Basin version of the Nubian Sandstone Gr.]

" “It consists of white, red, and brown medium-grained to conglomeratic, massive to cross-bedded sandstones. Its thickness is more than 400 m (1312 ft).
